We look forward to having you stay with us! Here are a few answers to some frequently asked questions:
Will I have cell phone service in Amish Country?
Verizon and AT&T work well in the area but according to feedback from guests, other carriers may work in spots, and some may have no service at all.
Please note: Our accommodations do not have landline phones so if having cell service on your trip to Amish Country is important, please check with your cell phone provider before travelling to our area.
What do I need to bring with me?
We try to supply everything our guests will need during their getaway. All the basics like coffee, tea, creamer, sugar, towels and linens, bubble bath, conditioning shampoo, soap, kitchen utensils, etc are provided along with some “not so basic” items like a corkscrew and wine glasses. Our cabins (which have full kitchens) are also stocked with basic cookware. We usually tell guests they only need to bring themselves and their belongings!
Can I buy wine or beer in Amish Country?
We are located in a dry part of the county. If you'd like to enjoy a glass of wine during your getaway, be sure to bring your favorite bottle with you or prepare for a short drive (approx 15 minutes). View THIS blog post for a list of wineries in the area. Nearby Rodhe’s IGA Marketplace has a nice selection of local wines along with a selection of beers.
Does Amish Country have DoorDash, Uber, etc?
Unfortunately at this time Amish Country does not have DoorDash or Uber. There is also no local taxi service either.
Is there anything else I need to know?
We always like to let our guests that aren't familiar with our area know that since we are located in Amish Country our area has a focus on family time. Most shops close at approximately 5:00 PM, although some shops have extended hours on Saturdays during the summer/fall. So arrive early if you plan on doing some shopping. Amish owned and operated restaurants close around 8:00 PM.
Sundays are considered a day of rest and the majority of Berlin businesses are closed; however there's still plenty to do! Check out THIS blog post for a list of attractions and restaurants open on Sundays.
The local businesses are individually owned and set their own hours. If there's a particular place you want to visit we recommend calling ahead to verify their hours.
